These Terms of Service ("Terms") constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("Client," "you," or "your") and CarefulTO, a courier service operating in Ontario, Canada ("CarefulTO," "we," "us," or "our").
By submitting a booking request through our website, by email, or by any other means, you acknowledge that you have read and agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not submit a booking.
CarefulTO provides local parcel delivery services across Toronto, the Greater Toronto Area, Hamilton, and the Niagara Region. Our services include:
All deliveries are handled personally by CarefulTO and are not subcontracted to third-party couriers. We reserve the right to decline any booking at our discretion prior to pickup.
A photo of the delivered parcel at its destination is taken upon every completed delivery and shared with the Client as confirmation of successful delivery.
Deliveries outside our listed service areas may be accommodated on a case-by-case basis. Contact us at info@carefulto.ca before booking if your destination is outside our standard regions.
All bookings are made through the online booking form at carefulto.ca. We do not accept telephone bookings at this time. Submissions are reviewed during business hours (Monday–Saturday, 8am–7pm). We will confirm your booking by email within 30 minutes during those hours.
A booking is not confirmed until you receive written confirmation from CarefulTO. Submitting the form alone does not constitute a confirmed booking.
Payment is collected in full at the time of booking via our secure online checkout, powered by Stripe. We accept all major credit and debit cards. Rates are as listed on our website at the time of booking:
Prices are in Canadian dollars and are subject to change without notice. The rate confirmed at the time of booking will be honoured. A receipt is emailed to you automatically upon successful payment.
No hidden fees. The price shown at checkout is the final price. We do not add fuel surcharges, handling fees, or after-the-fact charges.
CarefulTO does not accept the following items under any circumstances:
By submitting a booking, you confirm that your parcel does not contain any prohibited item. CarefulTO reserves the right to refuse, open for inspection, or abandon any parcel reasonably suspected of containing a prohibited item, at no liability to CarefulTO.
CarefulTO's maximum liability for any single delivery — including loss, damage, or delay — is limited to $100 CAD or the declared value of the parcel at the time of booking, whichever is less.
If your parcel has a value greater than $100, you must declare the value in writing at the time of booking. Failure to declare value limits any claim to $100.
While CarefulTO takes every precaution with fragile items, the Client accepts that some items carry an inherent risk of damage during transit regardless of care taken. CarefulTO's liability for fragile items is limited to the lesser of the declared value or $100 unless a higher declared value has been expressly agreed to in writing before pickup.
Clients are responsible for ensuring that fragile items are appropriately packaged or boxed for transport. CarefulTO is not liable for damage to items that were inadequately packaged by the Client.
CarefulTO is not liable for any consequential, indirect, or economic losses arising from delayed or failed delivery of documents, including but not limited to missed legal deadlines, financial penalties, or contract disputes. Clients sending time-sensitive legal documents do so at their own risk and should allow sufficient lead time.
In the event a parcel is lost in transit, CarefulTO will make all reasonable efforts to locate it. If the parcel cannot be recovered, liability is limited to $100 CAD or the declared value, whichever is less.
CarefulTO is not liable for loss or damage caused by:
All claims for loss or damage must be submitted in writing to info@carefulto.ca within 48 hours of the scheduled delivery time. Claims submitted after this window will not be accepted. CarefulTO will respond to all claims within 5 business days.
Recommendation: For high-value items, we strongly recommend obtaining third-party shipping insurance before booking with any courier, including CarefulTO.
You may cancel a confirmed booking at no charge up to 2 hours before the scheduled pickup time by submitting a cancellation request. Cancellations received less than 2 hours before pickup may be subject to a $10 cancellation fee. Refunds are processed manually via Stripe within 1–2 business days of the approved cancellation.
CarefulTO reserves the right to cancel or reschedule a booking due to circumstances beyond our control, including severe weather, vehicle issues, or personal emergency. In such cases, we will notify you as early as possible and offer a full reschedule at no additional charge.
Estimated delivery windows are provided in good faith but are not guaranteed. CarefulTO is not liable for delays caused by traffic, weather, road conditions, or other circumstances outside our control. We will communicate proactively if a significant delay is anticipated.
Information you provide when booking — including your name, contact details, pickup and delivery addresses — is used solely to fulfil your delivery and communicate with you about it. We do not sell, share, or distribute your personal information to any third party.
Booking records are retained for internal records purposes. Photo confirmations are shared with the Client and then retained briefly for dispute resolution purposes before deletion.
By booking with CarefulTO, you consent to receiving transactional communications (booking confirmation, delivery updates, photo confirmation) by email.
For full details on how we collect, use, protect, and disclose your personal information — including your rights under Canadian privacy law — please read our Privacy Policy.
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein. Any disputes arising from these Terms or from a delivery transaction shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Ontario.
CarefulTO reserves the right to update these Terms at any time. Updated Terms will be posted to carefulto.ca with a revised effective date. Continued use of our services following any update constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
